Anthology CTF map30 is pretty much zdctfmp3 map30 with some alterations by AlexMax (the original map author). AlexMax made the adjustments to make the map more fun and strategic. The old version of the map was featured in some early idl games (citation needed? I think it was..) but this newer version would be its first appearance in a competitive league.

I personally was never a fan of this map but it is always nice to have different maps to play.

What if the void was changed so that instead of falling it's just instant death? Would you be able to return the flag in a way similar to when it's sitting on lava?

I never liked the original but the new version is 1000x better
