I will try to (beginning with the next WDL season) update this post with each subsequent recording of WDL Radio, so we can have an archive in the event that any of those dropbox links or whatever get deleted from the news posts. I will upload each recording, as a .wav and a .zip, to the page below. Thanks for listening!

WDL Winter 2016 / WDL Winter 2016 All-Star Game
« on: February 23, 2016, 01:11:19 PM »
It is time once again for our annual All-Star game! We've had quite an interesting season, along with a varied set of maps that led to a lot of 3-round matches. The only real mainstay map was map04, which helped us kick off the season in familiar territory. After that, it was mostly into the unknown for every team and it produced some amazing and entertaining matches, some of the best ones since this league began. It is with this knowledge that you must now select the best of the best; the cream of the crop! So many players this season had monster games that it will be tough to narrow it down to 5. Unfortunately for you, that is your task. So let the games begin!

  • The captains of the #1 (HumanBones) and #2 (Ralphis) seeded teams at the end of the season are the two captains for both All-Star teams.
  • All active players are allowed to vote for 5 different players from any team (excluding the two All-Star captains).
  • After voting has ended, both captains will take turns picking 4 players each from a pool of the top 10 voted players.
  • Each game will be 3v3 and every player is required to play a minimum of two rounds (unless no-shows etc).
  • The maplist is as follows: map04, map21, map18, map23, and map02. All of the maps will be played. At the end of the 5 maps, the total number of flags scored will be used to determine the winner. In the event of a tiebreaker, randmap will be called and that map will be played.
  • The game will be played the week after the Championship match, and voting will be open from February 23rd  March 2nd.

WDL Summer 2015 / WDL Summer 2015 All-Star Game
« on: August 11, 2015, 02:36:55 PM »
It is time once again to pit the leagues elite players up against each other in an all out brawl for global domination. While everything I just said is not entirely accurate, I'll tell you what is: we have had one hell of a regular season! The maplist this season strayed away from the norm and focused on specialty maps that catered to teams that practiced, and practiced a lot. Most teams put forth a great effort to learn and understand each map, and that led to some very exciting games. We also had some standout individual performances during these games, and this is where you come in. It is up to you to vote for the players you believe gave All-Star effort all season long.

So, as we reminisce about our fallen brethren (capo, Zakken) and take a look at the players who did not quit (everyone else), just remember this: one day you could be an All-Star too!

  • The captains of the #1 (Jwarrier) and #2 (Ralphis) seeded teams at the end of the season are the two captains for both All-Star teams.
  • The maplist is as follows: map06, map17, map20, map08, and map28. All of the maps will be played. At the end of the 5 maps, the total number of flags scored will be used to determine the winner. This is CTF, after all!
  • The game will be played the week after the Championship match, and voting will be open from August 12th  August 19th. Let the games begin!

WDL Summer 2015 / Thank you Xenaero and Ru5tK1ng
« on: August 08, 2015, 12:25:53 PM »
I think it is important to take a moment and thank these two people as they kept going and finished the season despite the cloud of bullshit that surrounded their team. It would be wonderful if they continued to play in future seasons because we need more people like them!

THANK YOU XENAERO AND RU5TK1NG!!!!!!!!4$

WDL Winter 2015 / WDL Winter 2015 All-Star Game
« on: February 22, 2015, 06:36:02 PM »
Early on in IDL's history, the annual All-Star game recognized each season's best players by electing them representatives of their respective conferences and pitting them against each other. This was always a fun way to set the stage for the next season; setting rivalries aside and letting bygones (TeamSpeak screaming matches) be bygones (ragequitting). I'll be resurrecting this event starting with the WDL Winter 2015 season, and a few changes have come with it:

  • The captains of the #1 and #2 seeded teams at the end of the season are the two captains for both All-Star teams.
  • The maplist is as follows: map06, map17, map29, map04, and map24.
  • The game will be played the week after the Championship match, and voting will be open from March 2nd  March 9th. Let the games begin!
